A Passion for Education
The supplemental insurance industry is not the only area in which Ellen has experienced professional success. An admitted attorney, she was recruited by the leading legal global publisher, LexisNexis. In this position Ellen honed her consultative skills, and later management skills. Later, after moving to the field of insurance, Ellen continued to gain experience leading sales teams and consulting with management on regulatory matters.
Her professional passion, however, lies in the field of education. Soon after graduating from the University of Connecticut, she earned her Master’s Degree in Teaching. Later, she would also earn her Juris Doctorate from Pace University School of Law. A certified teacher, Ellen was employed as an adjunct professor for 14 years with Albertus Magnus College. While at Albertus Magnus, she designed curriculums and instructed a variety of courses for Associates, Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree students including Ethics and Business Law.
Ellen’s passion for education is apparent. She has studied at some of the most notable learning institutions in the world including Oxford, Trinity and Yale. A published author, Ellen’s most recent work is the Voluntary Benefits Specialist Handbook. While working as part of the Sales Excellence team, Ellen was assigned the daunting task of independently researching and writing a text for the designation program. It is this book that the course of study was built upon.
Ellen resides in Hadlyme, Connecticut.
