Our captive programs are structured as:
 
  • Single Parent Captives which are formed as a subsidiary of a “parent” organization to ensure all are part of the organization’s risk
  • Group and Association Captives owned by member policyholders
  • Agency Captives owned by agents or brokers
Single Parent Captives
 
  • Size preference: $1M to $35M loss picks
  • Strong financials
  • All lines preferred: auto liability, general liability, worker’s compensation
  • Claims service and risk engineering can be bundled or unbundled
Group and Association Captives
 
  • Start-up – $5 million first year target premium
  • Existing books with a profitable track record
  • Specific excess and unlimited aggregate insurance coverage
  • Actuarial analysis of loss funding levels and pricing
  • Claims service and risk engineering can be bundled or unbundled
  • Policy issuance and required filings to state and bureaus
Agency Captives
 
  • Risk sharing: Minimum 50 percent quota share of $250,000+ retention
  • $10 million first-year target premium
  • Existing books with profitable track record
  • Hartford services available for claims and risk engineering
Customers have access to our broad range of casualty coverages (commercial auto, general liability and workers’ compensation), including multinational solutions for global exposures that include:
 
  • Dedicated program manager and underwriting team
  • Oversight of claims
  • Ability to work with independent third-party administrators (TPAs), providing experienced claims assistance and complex case management
  • Customized risk engineering services to supplement TPA services
  • Premium audit services
  • Ability to work with multiple domiciles
