Amy Stepnowski

Chief Investment Officer of The Hartford and President of HIMCO

Amy StepnowskiAmy Stepnowski is the Chief Investment Officer of The Hartford and President of Hartford Investment Management Company (“HIMCO”).
 
She joined The Hartford in September 2008 and has worked at HIMCO throughout her tenure. In her current role, which she began in August 2020, Stepnowski leads the development and execution of The Hartford’s investment strategy, which ensures the company’s investment assets are positioned to support The Hartford’s financial and strategic objectives. As President of HIMCO, Stepnowski oversees the organization’s efforts to provide tailored investment solutions to HIMCO’s clients. In her current roles, Stepnowski has also been actively involved in sustainability and talent development. She is a member of The Hartford’s Sustainability Committee and has served in a leadership role for the Professional Women’s Network for four years. Prior to her current role, Stepnowski was a member of the HIMCO Executive Leadership team, managed the Public Credit Research group, and led the investment-strategy committee and the Early Career Team. Stepnowski began her career at HIMCO as an emerging markets and high yield analyst.
 
Prior to joining The Hartford, Stepnowski spent twelve years at JP Morgan and its heritage institutions where her work focused on Latin American Corporate and Project Finance.

Stepnowski holds bachelor’s degrees in political science and Spanish from Yale College and completed Executive Education programming at Tuck School of Business. Stepnowski is active in the local Hartford community as a member of the Hartford HealthCare Investment Committee and the Trinity College Investment Committee.
